For this sample, I created the digital workbook in InDesign.Interactive buttons will take users to the previous or next page. In addition, I have included a menu button that will redirect them to the table of contents. Users can also jump to a specific section using the interactive table of contents. Each section has fillable boxes for users to complete.
The digital workbook is a tool that compliments the eLearning and in-class slide deck.
I used the Articulate Rise authoring tool in this eLearning example to build the module. Each section is divided into topic sections. The flow of the content uses scaffolding, which starts from simple segments to more complex content. We begin with definitions, concepts, and then visual design application.
Features Used: Storyline, accordion, tabs, and flashcard grid.
For the Articulate Storyline module, it was imperative to include text animation as cues for the order of information consumption. Like in the Rise module, tone, conversational and transitional language were present for clarity and content flow.
The eLearning features content layering using tabs and buttons.
The slide deck sample is to be used for in-class instructions. Information on the screen provides sufficient content for audiences. Doing so allows the facilitator to engage their audience but will not create cognitive friction.
The instructor-led slide deck is an excellent example of using the workbook in class to reinforce information.
